Taking great photos
The quality of your photos can make the difference between a quick sale and an item that stays online for weeks. Here are our best tips:
Lighting
- Photograph near a window during the day for natural light
- Avoid flash which can distort colors
- If photographing in the evening, use multiple light sources
Background
- Use a neutral background (white, light gray, or beige)
- Avoid cluttered backgrounds
- A white wall or clean sheet works well
Angles
- Take at least 5 photos from different angles
- Show the item being worn if it's clothing
- Photograph details and any defects
Technical quality
- Clean your phone's lens before photographing
- Hold your phone steady or use a support
- Don't zoom - get closer to the item instead
Remember: Items with great photos sell up to 5 times faster!
